Hi, my dad spends his retirement split between here and Italy and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about the best/most economical way for him to acess the intrnet via his laptop? i was thinking along the lines of two pay as you go arrangements with ISPs in each country but would welcome any other suggestions. The split is approx 4mnths UK, 8mnths Italy.
Thanks for your help

Why not get your father to set up an account in Italy with, say, Tiscali? I spend a fair bit of time in France and have an account in France with Tiscali and also one with them in the UK. I am able to use my UK credit card to pay for both accounts. Tiscali in the UK have an "off peak" service which can be used between 6:00 pm and 8:00 am during the week and all day at week ends. It costs about £11 per month. They have other options such as "pay as you go" where you just pay for the phone call and don't have to sign a contract. So perhaps your father might benefit from a "pay as you go" system in the UK and a permanent one in Italy. i don't know about other ISPs but Tiscali seem very flexible in the arrangements one can have with them. The only drawback that I have found is that Tiscali UK is rather slow but that could be due to factors out of Tiscali's control. I used to use BT Internet in the UK but found them very slow and less than helpful when I wanted help. Tiscali are slow but very helpful.
