After an exhaustive process of trying to sell my car both offline and online which culminated in someone bidding on a famous auction site and not turning up I decided to make my own car sale website which allows anyone to advertise for free, so you have nothing to lose.
I particularly wanted to make it a local site as I think a lot of people like to buy they're car locally and magazines tend to advertise nationally however if you have a car to sell then you'll not go wrong by taking a look at my site at:
I like the simple layout, but your really need to start getting some adverts online. Until people see others using it then they are usually a little reluctant to submit their own details.
Would it be possible to use adverts from other 'well-known' sites to help get the ball rolling?
I thought about that but I do not want to make it a commercial site, I would rather keep it for private sales. I know its difficult for people to post their car without seeing other adverts but you have to start somewhere, and hopefully maybe someone on this site maybe wants to sell their car or they know someone who does. After all it's free what have they got to lose.
Probably not, besides the poster hasn't been here since punting the site last May.
