Decided yesterday to give Freeserve notice to quit from their anytime package,as I wished to change my isp.Despite my current payment by credit card (in advance of course) still okay untill the 29th I found myself cut off in less than 2 mins.after my phone call to them. This is theft--a failure to provide A service already paid for. I hope current freeserve users will note this and also hope all internet users will spread the word.I

When my ISP was with Freeserve they advised me that once you give them the nod to cancel the contract they would cancel it immediately. Best not to cancel it until your next one is due.

I'm with BT Openworld and I cancelled mine a while ago to switch to AOL (big mistake, switched back after 2 weeks). BT kept my account open for 48 hours and left my email account open for 60 days. BT aren't bad.

Bt aren't bad - until there's a problem. My broadband started playing up, and they would not acknowledge that i had a service! I had to go several weeks with the "you don't have a service with us so we won't fix it" syndrome. Mind you, did me a favour that.
I contacted a rival, told them I wanted the service, that i had all the necessary equipment. They connected me up, and been with them ever since. Also, I sent BT my bills showing that I had paid for a service that they claimed I never received.
Thanks BT - you're not bad, especially with that nice £500 refund.
Yep, your right - BT aren't that bad.
