Thinking about broadband
      #180670 - Wed Apr 20 2005 09:44 PM

Hi all,

I am currently using Wanadoo Dial-Up internet access and I am looking to upgrade to Broadband. I want a service with no restrictions what-so-ever and a nice and fast connection. The price isn't important as long as the service is tip-top.

I am looking into AOL, but am tending to shy away from them because you have to install and use their software. Wanadoo only offer a limited restricted service and Tesco are useless.

I am a Broadband rookie so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

I have AOHell Gold, shortly to be upgraded to 1Mb. They seem to be similar to Man U. Some like 'em, some hate 'em - i'm not sure how I feel.
I haven't had any problems with the service, and once you are logged on you can minimise the browser and use whatever you like - I have both Maxthon and Firefox installed and have used both.
The freephone support is handy but as I haven't used it I don't know how good it is.

Is a problem shared, a problem halved - or just two people depressed?

Seems I can't deny, some days just don't feel right. I think I feel much better at night.
I'm not a complete idiot.......some parts are missing.

I have just signed up to Talktalk. They have a plan where you get unlimited 512k BB plus free phone calls for about 25 quid. When I connect and right click on the Speedtouch (talktalk) symbol in the tray. it says that the connection speed is 2Mb.
It was easy to set up and the 'free' modem and setup kit arrived about a week after I signed up. So far I have had no probs. Look at www.TalkTalk.co.uk
