I have been using Firefox for a few days now, and I am on the whole impressed.
I do however have one concern. I find that in comparison with IE, pictures on web pages tend to be slightly slower in downloading.
Do other Firefox users find this?

To be honest, I can't say I've noticed this. I've found Firefox to be faster at downloading everything than IE, which is quite important if you're on dial-up like me. Madeline.

there is a way of improving the speed at which images load
In your Firefox address bar, type in about:config
Look for nglayout.initialpaint.delay
Double click it and change the value to 0

Thanks very much for that. I'll give it a try.

Well, I looked for it, and found two nglayout options, neither of which were the one listed by your good self.
By virtue of this, I've no idea where to turn from here.
I do still like Firefox, but the slight slowness in downloading of images, accompanied by the printed names of the images prior to the images coming up, do annoy me a little.

ok open up about:config, right click a blank part of the page opened and click New | Integer
Copy and paste nglayout.initialpaint.delay into the Enter the preference name field
Click OK
The type in 0 into the next box
Click OK
Close all firefox windows and restart firefox
