Netscape 7.02
      #177639 - Mon Apr 11 2005 03:44 PM

I am primarily a IE user, but when attempting to download files using Netscape, I must right click, save link target as to be able to complete the download. Other wise I get another file extension added on to the downloaded file making it unreadable. I have tested this on 2 different machines in our test lab, one machine added a .html extension to the .pdf file I was downloading. On the second machine, a .asp file extension was added to the downloaded file. Has anyone else notices anythinglike this? If so could you offer an explaination? To avoid this I Save Link Target As and everything is good. I guess I am just looking for an explaination as I do have the work around.

Thanks

see
Here point 8
Here point 21

it would appear to be a 'feature' of Netscape and the answer is to do what you are already doing by right clicking and selecting Savce Link Target As..
