Windows Media Player
      #176312 - Wed Apr 06 2005 11:34 PM

Hi,
Bit new to all this but I have just started "burning" my own CD's.
I use Windows XP Home and I am using Windows Media Player 10 which was pre- installed. Downloaded music files (MP3) to my hard drive, but when requested by Media Player to transfer music files from my hard-drive it transferred everything, music, wife's driving course, my games (Pirates & Nexus etc).
Anything with music or commands from games were transferred to Windows Media Player, luckily I can reload the games but how do I keep WMP from "nicking" it's files again, and how do I get rid of all the unwanted files in WMP.
One good thing the music CD's came out great !!!
Thanks for any help.

Hi there, don't know if this will help or not. To delete files in WMP 10 just right click it and you have the option of deleting it from the library only or the library and the computer. i choose the first one unless I want to get rid completly. As for adding files to the library I go to FILE / ADD TO LIBRARY / BY SEARCHING COMPUTER then choose where I want to add the files from by finding the folder the files I want to add are in.

Hi Manxislander,
Thanks for reply, as for deleting each file I have over 850 unwanted files which would take a long time.
I was lucky as I found that by deleting everything by "unknown composer" in Library got rid of all my unwanted files.

Thanks Bob

To delete multiple files anywhere in Windows (including WMP) highlight the first file in the list then hold down the Shift key and click on the last file in the list. This will select all files which you can then delete using the Delete key once.

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
