I write to inform you of how sub-standard I think your customer service is. Firstly, I sent you an email via this site about two weeks ago regards upgrading my current BT Broadband service to 2mb. This according to your site was meant to be happening in February. You did not even give me the courtesy of a reply. I am still using the standard BB service. Still waiting for the upgrade.
Secondly, yesterday I received an email saying that my phone bill required payment. I logged on to your site to try to pay same and low and behold, I couldn't. My utter frustration at the moment is immense. I tried using three different cards to pay the bill, all of which could not be validated by your site. I also wasted 10 minutes of my life on hold when I phoned your not so helpful helpline. I decided to hang up as I got fed up of waiting for a reply. If you choose to re-vamp your website, please ensure that the thing works. I had no such problems with the old site.
To sum up, your customer service is a joke and with the amount of money you make from suckers such as me, I think you should be able to make a website that actually works. You are a shambles and the sooner you get things sorted the better. I for one am seriously considering taking my business elsewhere.

Sent today about 5 minutes ago. I wonder if I'll get a reply. I feel better now I've got it out of my system now though!

You'll get a reply along similar lines as this...............
I am sorry to hear that you are still unhappy with the way that your email has been dealt with. I can inform you that the emails you received are not BT standard and that alot<<<<< (possible engineered spelling mistake to make you think it was a real person answering) of time and thought are put into your replies as with every customers queries. In relation to your question I hope that you will find the following information useful:
I can confirm that BT has announced plans to speed up the delivery of broadband services to rural communities. These plans will make the UK a world leader for broadband availability.
BT is to systematically rollout ADSL broadband to a further 1,128 exchanges by no later than summer 2005. This will help bring broadband to exchanges serving 99.6 per cent of UK homes and businesses.
The new approach replaces the broadband registration trigger scheme that has helped BT match investment to demand since July 2002. Now, as we move into more and more rural areas and we have a clearer picture of growing demand, there are real benefits to be gained through a planned roll out. This means we can deliver broadband to far more people in a shorter timeframe. This approach also means we can use the best engineering solution for the whole network to efficiently manage costs and future growth. Together with our plans to extend the reach of broadband from a local exchange, this takes us significantly closer to universal availability. The rollout programme will be announced in detail by the end of June and will help BT bring forward some published broadband switch-on dates.
If you should have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us again via e-mail.
Thank you for contacting BT and have a nice day <<<<< Urrrghhhh !
Yours sincerely,

I'm not sure that they go as far as interpreting it judging by some of the responses that I have received to emails.
They are a bit like MP's responding to a simple question, a long winded response that has everything but the answer to the question.

You're probably right there, bricat. When I e-mail BT, the replies always come from someone with an Indian name. They never quite answer my query until I've got cross and e-mailed them once or twice more. Madeline.

You guys are lucky you even have broadband ive been emailing them and complaining for the last 3 years now trying to get it. i live in the 0.04% of the midlands that cant get it, I emailed them a few weeks ago with a big moan and i finaly got a responce , well for what i now know is just a mass sent email and yet another failse promice from BT. the email contained "The rollout programme will be announced in detail by the end of June and will help BT bring forward some published broadband switch-on dates" Yet were now into july and i see no realease of a new roll out plan. BT = THE BAINE OF MY EXISTANCE.
