dvd sticking
      #176091 - Wed Apr 06 2005 11:36 AM

Can anyone explain why a dvd movie would stick and be jumpy. I am using nero and DVD Shrink to copy the movie and everything appears to be fine but towards the end of the film sometimes it sticks and jumps.
It is only for a short period of time and once it has passed the sticky bit, its ok again.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Possibilites: Poor quality disc - disc surface dirt or slightly damaged - too high writing speed.

Try again with a quality brand.

Check the surface and clean with a soft, clean dry cloth - firmly.
Playing on computer may pick up any defection whereas a standalone player can usually play disc perfectly.

Choose lowest speed for writing, maximum speed has been known to interrupt and miss a file even though a successful burn has been assured.
