Moving favourites list to another PC
      #175985 - Tue Apr 05 2005 10:54 PM

I have built up a great big long list of favourites in IE on my much used Laptop. How can I copy this list to my networked PC without having to manually do it. Is there some way of exporting it automatically, if there is I can't find it.
Thanks in advance.!

I am not too sure and if there is a better way then one of the experts will probably give you an easier way.
But try one of these ways http://www.eiu.edu/~mediasrv/ie2/manage.html#com
or try this for help http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6142-0.html?forumID=5&threadID=23273&messageID=252649.
Good luck

Heres an easy way I'll start you off then the rest is straight forward
Open Your page then on the top of the Window find File click on this for the menu list look down the list for the Item above Properties titled Import and Export... Click this then read through the instruction becuase you neen this Progran on both computers to grab the favorites file and make it into a mailable file to email to the other computer
The top 2 items on the list are concerned with Favorites. The other 2 deal with cookies select "exporting"
All you have to do is click on the item then the computer makes the file up,you put it in an email post it to yourself (or transfer it to a floppy disk)
Open the program on the other computer run the wizard select "import"
and your favorites are installed ready for use
Another way and it's secure is to upload your favorites to a Bookmarking site (can access them from anywhere) I use the http://www.linkagogo.com site which is free(supports most browsers)
I have almost 2000 links stored there (and you can download them back at any time) Note AOL Bookmarks are upload only
As a bonus you get a personalised search page of your bookmarks all sorted duplicates ignored

Another option.

Right-click on one of your Favorites and click on the General tab. Look at the location.

Now navigate to that location, right-click the folder and select Copy. Now paste it onto a floppy disk or USB flash memory stick.

Then copy and paste it into the Favorites folder on the other PC.

Choice, choices.
