When listening to videos or music through my headphones on the computer it plays at a very low volume despite all volumes being set to max. does anyone know of a programme which sill help raise the volume?

If you are using WMP to listen to music try View | Enhancements | Graphic Equalizer and set your preference If not sorry I don't know.

I dont know the answer to your question,but is the volume any better if you use
speakers,it might give a clue as what to look at next.

What you could try is to pull and push your earphone plug in and out of its socket (you may have a bad connection.)
