windows movie player
      #174352 - Wed Mar 30 2005 10:52 PM

Hopefully someone can help. I transferred my digital pictures into windows movie player and then copied to CD-R and CD-RW. The CD's play fine in the comptuer; windows XP, but when I try to play the cd in my dvd player it does not read. Should I save the file in another format to get it to read? Thanks!!!

I assume you mean Windows Movie Maker is where you prepared your 'movie'. When you copied to CD this would only be a WMV (Windows Media Video) file, not compatible with a standalone DVD Player.

You need to convert this file to an Mpeg 1 format, (VCD), to do this download the free TmpgEncoder which will convert your WMV to Mpeg 1.

I would advise you check that your DVD Player is compatible with VCD, not all are. If you are not sure you can check here for compatibility.
