got 2 start somewhere

OK, 1st attempt - I'm proud so don't laugh... but like the title said, you've got to start somewhere :)

It was done with Plusnet's web-builder program - 'real' page design is way beyond me at this point.

Hi,

hey - well done for having a go and trying things out. We use plus.net too and have found them to be really good.

I think half the fun of making websites is starting off with something, seeing how you like it, learning a bit more, and making slow gradual improvements.

One thing that might improve the site is to try to lay out the images and text in a bit more of a "tidy" way, so that, for example, the photo caption is always underneath the photos, instead of under it in one place, to the left/right in another. However, as you're using plus' own editor, I'm not sure how much control you have over such things.

The site is interesting - like a mini snapshot of you. What a wonderful place you live in as well. Funny though, I was just looking this evening at another site with photos from Glencoe on, by a guy from Aberfoyle. There are some nice photos from glencoe, for example, here and here and also here. What an incredible place!

All the best to you

The site has good basics u mite want to sort out the pics coz it does look like a jumbled up mayhem! you mite want to add a Navbar rather than have those links down the bottom like that. you mite want to research on how you do that i used Lissa explains it all it may look childish but it sure does help

anyway gr8 job with the website ohh and i never knew anybody bought ABBA the definitive collection on DVD.lol. but hey we can forgive you 8)

Thanks for the comments :)

I've tried to tidy up the captions within the limitations that PlusNet Webbuilder allows and I think you're right... it's a little better.

I've been busy with a wedding DVD (as readers of another forum section will know) and the web hasn't progressed for weeks, but I will get back to it eventually.

Hello Stewart

Great to see you've got a site up and running. It can be quite an uphill climb for the first few months. I've a few tips on website design here: http://www.theimageplane.net/photcomp2.htm You're welcome to have a look if you think it may help.

By the way, I'm impressed by your RAV4. I have the older NRG model. They are impressive cars and mine has been very reliable - so far...

Hi,

Keep working on it! I have found the hardest thing for me is the design as I have no artistic streak in me whatsoever!

Just a small point, it would be better if the page had a title. At the moment it shows index.html in the blue bar at the top and taskbar on a persons pc. Only small, but as Tesco's say 'every little helps!'

Good luck,

Mark.
