dial up ISP'S.
      #171899 - Mon Mar 21 2005 04:15 PM

I would be very grateful to know if any webuser has any information re dial up ISP flexi-surf.co.uk please?
I have read through their blurb on web site, can join up for as little as £5:00 per month? Plus their is no contract to sign. I presume hours would be limited per month although could not find any details of this.
I am looking for a ISP server that is dial up and reasonable cost per month.
Be pleased to hear of any feed back re above ISP server Thanks Isa.

Only 60 hours per month....doesn't sound a good deal. See here

How many hours approximately, do you use the internet for in one month?

Thank you Hello_There for that link re flexi-surf. Enquiring for a friend who has just acquired win 98 PC. Person is starting a Managerial course after Easter period, so could possibly be ideal for revising, studying, course work etc; with the idea of going onto the internet saving, printing any useful study notes.
Thank you for your help and time Isa.

My pleasure Isa . There are probably other dial up ISPs with similar packages in that price range. Unfortunately I don't have time this evening to have a look for you as I'm out soon. I must admit I would be wary of registering with an ISP I've never heard of before, but that's a personal decision of mine (I prefer to play safe!!).

Hi ISA, Can't comment on the isp you mention but if your friend could stretch to Ten pounds monthly they could do a lot worse than V21. For that price you get 42 hours PER WEEK at any time day or night. I've been with them for almost three years and the price hasn't gone up yet. (typically it might do now!) Never a problem getting on line and if you do need customer service at all they are very quick to help out. Hope this helps, Steve.

Hi there Steve, thank you for your responce re dial - up connection. Would be most grateful if you could give me V21's web site address, I can then pass on details to friend who is visiting me during this week.
42 hours per week sounds "day/night" rather interesting. Thank you for that info; Cheers Isa.

Thank you Madeline for taking trouble to look up V21 and posting the link. I will take a good browse through V21's blurb and FAQ's later on.

Steve seems to be very happy with thier service "above" thanks again Steve for info: I will pass details onto friend and naturally let y'know the decision.
Many thanks. Isa.

My father has been using Flexisurf for 6 months now and rates it highly, in fact during this time he has never had a disconnection, unlike the two or three previous ISP's he has used before. I think the worst he used was MIP (My internet pass) , always unable to log in or not keeping a connection more than 20 Min's.

Flexisurf is as stated £5 per month for 60 hours.
I must admit that when he told me about it i thought it was to cheap for a reliable service, but it's proved me, and him wrong.

As promised I am pleased to say friend very contented with V21 for the amount of money, and hours per month.

I also decided to "sign up" with flexi-surf this past weekend, I had a little hiccup re networking etc; one phone call has solved problem, the chappie on other end of phone very pleasant and helpful. he informed me for any one who may be interested to know (flexi-surf and V21) are sister companys.

Thanks Steve, Madeline for the links etc; Isa.

You're welcome, Isa. Thanks for the feedback. It's interesting to know that Flexi-surf and V21 are sister companies. From what I saw on their sites, they offer very good value for money.
