Blank Recordable CDs
      #171517 - Sat Mar 19 2005 04:19 PM

Hiya. I used to buy 30 Imation recordable CD-R's - in cases - from Morrisons for £9.99 but my local store don't stock them anymore. Can anyone please give me recommendations and links to where they purchase their blank CD's from? Preferably with cases. Many thanks

If you have a Netto store locally, they sell a decent quality CDR blank a fiver for 25 I think, maybe less, without cases though. Personally, I use the plastic covers £2 for 100 take up far less space.

Asda have a decent range, sorry, don't know the prices not having bothered buying there.

Also may be worth your while to check out a local weekly open air market. If there's a computer stall as we have, discs and cases come, not only very reasonably price but a lot cheaper than the stores.

I remember being told by a Londoner, "If London ain't got it - it ain't worf havin'".

Might be worth getting the bike out and pay a vist to "The Sticks". We ain't so badly off after all.

London's a big place George!! I now live on Essex borders (and I'm not blonde!!).
Predator, thanks for your suggestions. Office World/Staples have merged now and they are expensive. I'll probably go to PC World and rummage around their deals!

10 for £2.55 at Ebuyer

Quality brand as well. I know you have to pay delivery charges but if you buy lots it will still work out cheaper.

Mwahhhhhhh xxx Perfect Richie !!! Thank you !!!

PS Wow, yes....they want £5.49 "Shipping Band", so it's not as much as a bargain as it looks!! I will still have a look around to compare first, but you can still have the "mwahhhh" ha ha ha.

Hi
I tend to buy all my media from WWW.UKDVDR.CO.UK

Excellent site and the shipping not too expensive.

Interested in this thread. I made 12 recordings of MP3s on Phillips CDR 80 52X and then I had to reformat my PC.

When I came to put the Mp3s back on my PC, they were not recognised...I felt quite sick and then found a programme Iso Buster...cost £16.66 but was well worth it as it recovered all my stuff.

The CDRs I bought were not the cheapest by any means, but now I would never buy the bargain variety as it is too risky.

What kind of CDRs do you all buy?

I've used various, even bought 200 unbranded once for £22, apart from an odd couple in the pack every disc has worked fine for data and audio. Other brands have been Traxdata/Datasafe/DataSure/Maxell and at Netto 'Mr Platinum', 25 for £3.50, (I think). Never a problem with any of them.

I wonder if it is my Sony CRX rewriter that is too fussy over which CDRs to use?

I may have to look up a site that tells me which brands it will recognise..anyone else heard of such a site?

With A Sony writer you probably need to buy quality branded discs. I use both a Liteon CDRW and a Pioneer AO6 DVDRW/CDRW, both compatible with any make of disc as I've found so far. Particularily the Pioneer which has a reputation for reliability in that direction.

A helpful website for advice is CD Media World on disc quality etc.

I noticed my local Woolworths was selling cheap CD/R discs. I can't remember the details, but worth asking the staff if they have any.

My son's friends buy theirs from here. Looks really good and if we do a mass order together then we can share the cost of P&P

I've been recommended THIS site by friends. haven't tried it yet myself but the prices seem OK.
