retreivel of movie file after reboot

Before restoring and rebooting my computer i transfered my movie onto a sony memory stick, because my disc drive wasnt working. Afterwards i put in my memory stick and tried to retieve the file on my studio 9.1 version by pinnacle (this was the program i used to make it) but it is saying it can not be read could anybody help it took me ages and i think if ive lost it i might just cry! I am useing windows xp

Put your memory stick in and open My Computer. Does the file show? If so, copy it to your hard drive, then open it from there.
