I have just burned a .img file to a Sony DVD+R. I popped this DVD into my player, and there are horizontal lines going up the screen, as if it was bad tracking in VHS. Hard to explain I know. The picture is there, the sound is there, but is there some way to adjust tracking or something like that? Or am I using the wrong media? Please help!

Did the original copy play OK? Have you tried burning at a slower speed?

The original played fine, and when I put the DVD into my computer DVD rom it also played fine. I burned at 2.4x. I am thinking it might have something to do with PAL/NTSC formats.. but I'm not sure how to check those kinds of properties. I know my DVD player is NTSC (I am in Canada) but how can i check what the video is?

PAL/NTSC was why I asked the question if the original worked OK. If it did then the copy should be fine. Doesn't it tell you on the box?
Try using DVD Shrink to create a backup copy from the original. It creates region-free DVD's so that will eliminate that issue.
