lineone ( tiscali ) and IE 5.5
      #167384 - Thu Mar 03 2005 10:51 AM

Hi everyone
i recently formatted hard drive due to ongoing probs and everything is now nice and stable....fingers crossed, however when i try to access IE i am getting the Lineone ISP registration page and i cannot get anywhere. Lineone came bundled with my Tiny PC as the preffered ISP. PC is 5yrs old.
I am at present with AOL BB Gold but sometimes require IE for some sites i visit as AOL's browser will not allow me access?
How do i get rid of Lineone and continue with IE.
Any info would be grateful.

It sounds as if Lineone signup has been set as the 'homepage' for IE. Can you type a different URL in the Address bar or does IE refuse to allow any changes?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

i am unable to access Internet Explorer at all.
When i double click the IE desktop icon the Lineone (Tiscali) registration page takes over. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get rid of this page.
Does anyone know how to access IE by other routes.
Maybe i need to access the registry to block or delete the Lineone page.

Help,

I've just finished setting up a Tiny PC which had exactly the same problem. In the end I had no choice but to go through the registration procedure, setup an account which I could then use to log onto the Tiny site and get an unlock key for the dial-up modem.
