Here, in England, we had a public message board provided by: "Easy Forums" which has now vanished. I'm pretty certain they are based in the USA. Any ideas where I can find out what is going on ? Is this the correct board for this query ? If not please indicate alternative.

Thank you Ourstanly. I looked at both sites above the line but I'm afraid I could not see where a new message might be posted. And I didn't understand any of the stuff below the line. I know how to drive a keyboard but just about everything else on my comp is a complete mystery. Have to leave now. Hope to return about 08.00 hrs London UK time - Thursday 24 February.

You do realise that this is a UK based forum, don't you? Most of us on here are in the UK. Madeline.

Hi Madeline ... I got here via a very big USA site: "My way" so assumed it was a specialist board such as: current events ... health ... music etc.
If you could not get through to [an imaginary] USA board "Madeline Online USA" where would you start looking ?
This is just curiosity as instinct tells me "Easy Forums" is dead.

Apart from Amserve PlusZone, My way, BBC and totse.com ... what other open / general message boards are available ?
[As far as I can see: "Easy Forums" is history.].

UMM... you could try posting your question (or have a lurk?) on the 2 Forums I'm resident on http://www.answerpool.com and http://www.discussionpool.com (both in the US) The natives are friendly and make you welcome.Another poster here (Teresa) is also on those boards .

Well BedstorfromAP* kind of you to make time for my query and "Yes" they both have potential with one of them looking especially user-frindly. But can I clear up one aspect ? Are you saying there are no other worthwhile "open" boards in the UK ? Do you favour American boards out of choice or by necessity ? Hope this does not read as: "Looking A Gift-horse In The Mouth". [*Also hope I got spelling, of your name, correct].

I have searched for something like these boards in the UK but Most are unregulated and moderation is questionable My first encounter with Forums was the AOL Uk forums and Yahoo's Forums Which were out of control and Off topic. Won't say what was said (it would earn me a ban OK?) I only found the Original Jeeves forum(answerpoint.com) by visiting Ask.com(USA) instead of Ask.co.uk and spotted a tiny link called "Ask other people" Had a look around, went away, visited it again saw a new question which had gone unanswered I knew the answer to(was very green at the time) and I registered answered the question, and within an hour I got a reply thanking me for the Info *pleased* So over a few days I went through the archive and New questions and slowly I started making my way up the league lists and with time my answers a lot longer and more concise.... Was with it till closure, we had several clone sites open (Think there is only 1 left? on MSN) becoming Mini answerboards The Answerpoint league leaders and whoever was known (about 300?) were sent an email inviting them to this new Forum Answerpool and from the start we had a discussion room (which became the idea for Discussionpool) and while we were planting questions we were running chats learning about each other Note: We went through the "why do the British do this say that... " thing very early on.(We are a close community) In fact most of the established groups pass on this, it is only the very new member that brings it up, speaks to you like you are on another planet.Use Plain English and you'll get on with anyone. I Made up an Incomplete member list on Discussionpool which has grown it shows How many countries we have members in I think we are 2 states short of a full house in the US? (subject to review) We are close to 2600 members (shows less due to a server update error) The ages range goes from 13 to well past retiring age Mostly Middle age. Moderation is Firm but fair And to add a bit of "UKness" LOL One of the Admin team comes from Blackpool! The site is regulated by the rules of ICRA(The Internet Content Rating Association) http://www.icra.org which is the Top US Internet regulator for websites.(Is this site regulated by those rules WU Admin)?
ps The spelling is correct of my Username
