Auto Scroll in Dreamweaver MX
      #163404 - Fri Feb 18 2005 09:27 PM

Sure there is an obious answer to this...

When trying to select any tag in the header section of a web page in code view in Dreamweaver MX, as soon as I click to try and select the tag or any text inside a tag, Dreamwaever immediately scrolls down and selects ALL text below to the end of the html. This makes it practically impossible to edit information contained within the header section of the page.

Any ideas how to stop this?

Thanks

John

Sadly I have no idea how to stop this, but I have experienced the same thing myself. Had a look on Google and can find nothing there, I too would appreciate any help.

Are you sure you're not trying to edit, what is in effect, an insert, i.e. Library item or Template?

In fact the item which brought this to my attention was a reference to an external style sheet, which is of course located in the <head> of the docuement.

It was while trying to paste in a new style sheet reference taken from another HTML document that I realised my problem.

The work around was to place the cursor before or after the relevant code and then manually delete character by character the offending code. I did then find that I was able to place the cursor and CTRL + V the new code.

This did not solve the problem however which still remained with other elements in the <HEAD> area.
