Hi, i really wanted to start a website, which will take advantage of this new music download boom. I thought maybe a site that will help bands etc who have just started and want to get their music on the internet- like 16 - 21 year olds who are in the 'lets make a band phase'! So I've created the site, using different scripts etc, and am really happy with it. It allows the visitor to sign up, browse music, send their music, which i then check and upload onto the website.
So, I've finished with the design, and have even got 1 band signed up on there already, however how can I get this website known!? It's so hard to allow people to know about this website- and get bands to sign up etc.
Any ideas please?

Yes, ive only got 1 or 2 more pages, like help pages and the about page. But other than that, everything to add music, browse it etc is there.
Thanks for your comments. I've tried it in Internet Explorer and Firefox and both work fine- so hopefully it should be OK in any others.
Any ideas on promotion?

Hi - I like the design - looks professional and well thought out.
Promotion - there's the tricky bit! It's hard to know what to suggest really - since most facets of the web are completely saturated with sites covering all tastes and ranges, working out what angle yours will take and trying to get others to take part and build up a community can take time and effort.
I suppose attracting search engine traffic is the key, unless you get lucky and have lots of other sites linking to yours - posting in forums with your site in your signature can help, but a lot of it is just plain old trial and error, working on something, seeing if it helps, if it doesn't, trying something else out.
As for search engines, the trick there (I've found) is to tailor the keywords on your homepage to meet what you expect google users and other SEngine users will type in to come across your site. You could probably do with more text explaining what your site is about on the homepage, littered with keywords relating to your site. Also may help putting in Keywords and Description tags in the <head> tags of your homepage to help with SEngines.
Good luck
Jim
