MIP Internet customers
      #143105 - Sun Dec 26 2004 02:08 PM

Are there any MIP (myinternetpass) customers having difficulty getting logged in ?
My father hasn't been able to get in since last Tuesday 21st.
He keeps getting the message "unable to connect to remote computer" i have tried pinging the server 212.104.129.27 and it seems to respond.
I understand the issue of contention but his connection has not worked at all since he downloaded AVG 7 , the new update for avg 6.

I can get access on the 0845 Pay as you go number with mip, but not on the scratch card numbers.
His status on the usage table is £6.45 and he also bought £10 last night online using the 0845 access, and still no log in with the same message "unable to connect to remote computer"
Can anyone suggest any other ideas ?

Have you managed to solve this yet? If not, a couple of ideas to consider.

1. Do you need to give AVG7 permission to go through the firewall?
2. Have you tried asking MIP for help?

I can't offer anything else as I don't use either AVG or MIP.
Dave

Just to update on the MIP problem, they now admit that there was a problem at there end and have given my father new credit ( £10 ) . The problem was their computers were giving out wrong user names , however, they denied for weeks that there was any problem, then ,after e-mails and a 75 p a minute phone call, they send an e-mail apologising for their mistake.
All is now well with the MIP account, however my father now has a new ISP ( Flexi Surf for £5 a month for 60 hours ) out of frustration with MIP.
