Posting an image
      #13982 - Mon Oct 06 2003 07:43 AM

Good morning! Can one tell me how to copy an image from, say, My Documents into a forum post? I looked at the Mark Up Tags thread posted by Mark in March but couldn't see anything on this. Was intrigued because of the photos posted in Jonny's thread "What got us started". Many thanks and have a good Monday!

You are right Brian. I had the same question a while back.

They need to be uploaded onto a web server. I've got my own website so I can upload any images I need to there. I've also got other servers I can use to host images.

Sorry, but on this forum there isn't the option to upload images onto this sites server.

Thanks Fella and Jonny for your replies, I didn't think there was a way.

It might not be that big a hurdle though, do you have an ISP and, if so,does your account have any free web space with it?

I do this from my own web pages. Its quite simple really, create a jpeg image and up-load it as stated above. Then you have to create the link. Job done.

And if you haven't got any webspace pop along to Lycos and get some free space there. Just create a dead simple webpage and put all your images etc onto it. If they aren't being used in a page Lycos will cancel the account.

Once done it's just a matter of hot linking to the images, naughty, but it works and Lycos seem to ignore it. I've got images on my old Lycos account that have been linked to for about 2 years and their still working and I've never had any complaint.
