Where it says enter a path for MSCTF.msp in the box provided, try entering

D:\

where D is the drive letter of your cd drive and press enter

Can I ask whether you have made any significant hardware changes recently?

No hardware change. everything is as it was b4.

I have only instsalled a digital camer but that is wouldn't effect it.

I have tried reinstalling windows ME just incase of any problems with corrupt or missing files.

Go for the obvious.

Well, what else is there to do when you don't know the answer?

It could be worth cleaning the installation CD, and also putting a cleaning disc in the drive.

I had a slow burn yesterday (keep it clean) followed by a failure to recognise the newly created CD, did what I've suggested above, and everything's ok again.

It's worth a try.
