They're obviously not too good with spelling, punctuation and grammar either!

Perhaps the rep from Wanadoo, who visited earlier this year, can let the rest of us know if this is in fact one of their emails, or not. (Far be it from me to caste aspersions elsewhere).

It did make me wonder, especially the mis-spelling of "occurrence".

It has got to be one of the most unconvincing posts that I've seen in this forum. There's no way it's real.

Dancer69, I'm sure that you have a reasonable gripe with Freeserve, but I'd love to know where you got this "e-mail" from.

I'll be in Bath this weekend, if you'd like to discuss it over a Stella.

So would I. What if it does turn out to be genuine? That would be interesting!

Then I'd have to admit to being wrong. Although I'm no stranger to being wrong, I have a feeling that I'm right about this one. It's about as convincing as that alleged conversation between a US Naval Frigate and a lighthouse.

I think you're almost certainly right. I remember seeing that alleged conversation in the Open forum a while back. It was very funny.

I didn't see it in the Open Forum, but I did get told it by a diving mate about 10 years ago.

As the holder of a marine radio license, I couldn't get beyond the fact every marine radio transmission begins "##########, this is #######", so I failed to see the funny side. Sorry to ruin a good gag!

It doesn't ruin it for me, Rob, but it's a pity it was spoilt for you.
