My website has a number of animated gifs, which are created in Fireworks 4.0. I know they work OK, but when I view the site on my home PC, they only show the first frame of the animation. If I right-click the image, then select "show original image" (or "show all original images"), the image loads correctly. Animated images on other sites also appear correctly.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions as to why this is happening. I'm on a broadband connection, using IE6.0, (without SP2); I've got the freeware version of ZoneAlarm.
PS - I've just downloaded Opera, and the same thing is happening...

Is your Internet Properties | Advanced | Multimedia | Play Animations checked?

Thanks for the reply; I've just had a look and yes, this option is already checked. I suspect it's something to do with Zone Alarm, but blowed if I can find out how to change the settings on it!

You haven't got an optimiser such as onspeed installed have you?

Hi, yes, I've got OnSpeed installed, but it's turned off most of the time, 'cos I've found it often gives 404s - presumably when their server is overloaded?

Try turning zone alarm off altogether as a test then you'll know if you are on the right track.

Thanks for the suggestons - I've tried them all, but no joy. Could it be something to do with the way the images have been created?
Your help is much appreciated!

Had the same problem a long way back....... something to do with Active X I seem to remember. Sorry I can't be more specific.
