email trouble with outlook express 6

Hi am having some trouble with outlook express, (I use windows xp home edition)
When I click on the spell check button the grey box that appears only shows have of the letters in the grey area. But the words in the white box are ok.

Could anyone help me with this problem as I am missing text on a few boxes such as windows updates one's. I do not want to use the recovery disk once again.

OE doesn't have its own spell checker, unless you have Word or some other M/S software, so the box is greyed out.

You could use your own word processor that does check the spelling or you could download a free one, who's name eludes me at the moment.

That's the one.

I don't actually use it because :-

a) I'm a good speller.
b) Any long or technical documents are written in Wordpro then copied to OE
