I have a HP Pavilion, running Windows 98. I have recently started using my pc to make music, and now I'd like to put it on to cd. BUT my pc only has one cd drive. Could it be that this could be used as a cd burn drive, if the correct software was installed? If not, how can I get the music from my pc to my (external) cd recording machine. Is the USB any help? Thanks

Double click on My Computer. Is your CD Drive labelled CD-RW Drive or CD-ROM Drive?

Probably a CD-ROM, in which case the answer's no, so don't waste money on CD burning software until you've bought a CD-R or CD-RW drive. I understand they're quite cheap nowadays.
If you have got a CD-R or CD-RW, you've probably got CD burning software installed already, either Roxio or Nero.
I don't like Windows Media Player 9, but that includes Roxio, and it's free. Not sure whether it will work with W98, but I'm sure someone will know.

Got myself a cd-burner off ebay, replaced my cd-rom with it, and installed burning sofware. It works a treat. Thanks for replies and advice
