Hi
At present I am on Freeserve BB uncapped 512kb service (we are told it's uncapped anyway?)which I have been very satisfied with, but now I'm looking to move to the one Mbit speed, After reading some of the comments about the equipment provided by Wannadoo I wondered if any of know of an ISP with good equipment offering the 1Mbit speed that you would recommend?

I was under the impression that Wanadoo were giving everyone a free upgrade from 512 to 1mb and that the only thing that would stop that happening was the BT line capability. Have you checked that your line can be upgraded?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really? Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

It's not free, you have to pay a one-off £20 to upgrade.

You might consider biting the bullet and buying the equipment yourself. 'Free' connection equipment is usually, but not always, poor quality; hence the comments regarding e.g. Wanadoo 'frog' modems, they are just not very good.
The ISP market is very volatile at the moment, e.g. AOL have price matched Wanadoo broadband 2Gb capped service with an uncapped service, with free hardware and unlimited customer support.
Look around, but the floor is moving as you sign up. Join a service with a short contract period. Wanadoo appear to be growing a very poor reputation across the board.

I wasn't offered that option As a long standing Freserve user I felt the service was generally on a downward spiral anyway

Thankyou, all of you for your help and advice. I have looked around on the net at the various deals on offer and after comparing several ISP's I have decided to migrate to "freedom2surf" They appear to be very reliable and, as yet, I have not heard a bad word about them. I will let you know first hand what my considered opinion of them is, once I have completed the migration etc. Thanks again Denisimo.

Hi There; As promised I'm letting you know that since I moved to freedom2surf I have found their sevice very good. they supply you with a good information base and very good descriptions of the services they offer. The service support is very good and they appear to know what they are talking about. I changed over using the migration method and true to their word as my service stopped with Wannadoo in the evening, I only had to wait until the next morning 9.50am and I was on line again All I can say is at this point I have not experienced anything that would stop me recommending f2s as a good ISP
