Please can someone solve this problem for me... I have checked numerous pages on the web and microsoft's site??
I have just upgraded from Win98 to Win Home Edition XP. I was running Office 2000 on Win98 and when I fully upgraded to Home XP I removed Office 2000 (including Outlook).
Now when I open OE6 everything seems to be ok until i receive email. When I attempt to open a newly received email I get an error stating
"There was an error opening the message, and error has occured"
usually followed by...
"the address book failed to load, it is configured incorrectly"
I have removed OE6 from Add/Remove Windows Components/Programs and reinstalled but to no avale....
I really think this seems to be as i originally used Outlook 2000 and since removing this it has caused the problem. Any idea's ....reinstalling Office 2000 is not an option as the software has been lost....THANKS MISSUS!!!!!!

you will need to set up outlook express
open outlook, click on tools, click on accounts and fill in your information.

Try this
Go to Start | Search | Files and Folders
Type in *.wab
When it finds the file, right click it, and click Properties
In the Properties dialog box, under Attributes, clear the Read-only check box.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Now try Outlook Express

Thank you so much for your reply.......but I have one lilttle problem.....on searching for *.wab it found no files like that at all!!! any other ideas??

That may explain why you are gettingthe error message then
Try this:
Go to Start | Run
Type in regsvr32 wab32.dll
Of all the Things I've lost, I miss my mind the most

Thanks for the quick reply....
On entering that in run i am gettin the following message
LoadLibrary("wab32.dll) failed - The specified module could not be found.
Any clues....as am about to lose it!!!!
