i have three files that are all part of the same thing, they were split up so downloading wouldn't take so long.2 of them when you click on them a window pops up that 'windows couldn't find the software to open this file would you like to search online" or something like that. the other one opens winzip when you click on it but when you try to unzip it you get an error, "The WinZip Wizard cannot open this file: it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading it again. If you want to add the file to an archive, first creat or open the archive, then drop the file again. Im running on windows xp. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It sounds as if Winzip can't find all three files in the same place. Normally when you create an archive and split the files up they are put into a specific directory. It may be that you need to recreate the directory structure that existed when the file was created.
Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really? Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
A corrupted download of the files could also be to blame.
Last week I was trying to download a zipped file from a friend and the first 5 times it wouldn't open with the exact same error message. The 6th download was successful.
