system tray+dissapearing icons

spybot tea timer +avg no longer show when online,but stay hidden,have checked instartup+startup in spybot+ccleaner all are checked to run,im concerned as to wither they are running or not,how do i check,?or better still get them showing again,

right click on task bar left click on properties. in the box that eppears
click on costomise you can hide or show your icons there.

Just to add to what JeffMax says. When you have the 'customise' list populated with icons you have choices 'hide when inactive' 'always hide' 'always show'. As you decide the fate of each one, go through the OK, Apply, routine. It doesn't seem to like acting on more than one change at a time. Some icons, 'safely remove hardware' for instance can be a bit fickle; suddenly deciding not to appear; and then next session they are back.
