Autoplay
|
|
When I put in a DVD into the drive it use to come straight on and start the film in WMP. The same when I put in a program on c.d, they would start automatically. Now I have to go into my computer and click on the drive to start it. I have input all the right settings in autoplay in the control panel and these have not changes , could there be another reason why this is happening?

Re: Autoplay

Here are a couple of things to try:
1. Click the Windows Orb (Start), type regedit, press Enter and navigate to registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom. In the right pane there will be a value called Autorun, double-click it and change the value to 1. To be safe, create a system restore point first, just in case you have ‘finger problems‘.
2. Have a look here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939052/en-us

Re: Autoplay

I have checked the autorun value and it already has a `1` in the box. I also looked at the web link you provided and that dealt with the issue of the disk not being recognised, in my case it will play when I double click on the drives icon but not autoplay when I put the DVD in the drive.
