HELP. need to convert .cda to DVD format !

I recently bought a Freeview DVD/HDD recorder, and was amazed to discover that it records in .CDA format.
That is the same as commercial music CD's. PowerDVD will play the recorded video, but I have nothing that can convert it to a proper video format, not even SUPER, as everything recognizes the content as audio.
Can anyone suggest how I can get round this problem please? I have camcorder footage that I really want to keep, but I cannot plug the thing into the PC as it is too old for the correct connections.

No it didn't, but many thanks for the effort. As the stupid machine keeps doing strange things, I might just take it back and get something else!!
