DVD's wont play

Hello every one thanks for reading my post.XP Pro..256RAM I have problem with playing DVD's since i have put new hard disk.... i am unable to play any DVD's.....is it some thing to do with the DVD driver? which i dont have
Please help me...I hope i dont have to buy new DVD player.Thanks once again

First of all upgrade to SP2, as pointed out here
