AVG 7.5 updates date???
|
Hello all,
Is it me or is the final date for AVG 7.5 becoming as big an enigma as the voting system in Zimbabwe?
I read that it was extended to Dec this year, yet I keep being told it finished on 25th this month. However, I'm still getting updates now.
Can anyone clarify this mystery???

The deadline date , in other words the last possible date , is 31st December 2008. That's not to say that won't change to a date before that.
If you're using the free version i can't see how you can complain about that . AVG 8 has been available for some time now , and although the odd person may have a problem here or there , in general it's problem free.
I would guess version 7.5 is being kept alive for those few that may experience problems with version 8 , but they can't be expected to continue this indefinitely and at some stage you'll have to upgrade , or choose an alternative.
Have you tried the latest version ??

Thankyou for your quick reply FF,
I'm sorry if it appears to you that I am complaining,I am merely confused.
I have a very old PC and am on dial up. AVG 8 seems a lot bigger taking up more space and processing power and downloading it would take several hours. There also seems to be still some teething problems with it.
For these reasons I have delayed trying it and 7.5 still works fine for me.
I was merely trying to ascertain a definitive date, which you have given me and for which I am grateful.
