I was looking into reducing my BT broadband from option 3 to option 1 has I don't even use anywhere near the maximum for option 1, I only use about 4Gb a month and double that if I try and watch loads of video listen to lots of music, but the connection is that slow it isn't worth bothering with. I went into the full terms & conditions of BT broadband and they want to charge nearly £40 if you drop from option 3 to either option 2 or 1. Personally I think it is when if you just cut your broadband they only charge £18 (£25 after 12th June) Then I didn't find anything in the T&C's that said how to actually either upgrade or downgrade the options. |

Is that charge at 'any time' or during the contracted period? |

It does not state whether it is one or the other so I assume it is any time. |

The T & C's quote: "If you downgrade from BT Total Broadband Option 2 or 3, we may charge you up to £39.14. This charge will be included in your next bill". It's only a phone call to clarify what the 'may' actually means. I would expect you'd also have to sign another 12 month contract. |
