Contact your bank (if they are still in business!) and get them to stop the Direct Debit so that no further payments are made. |

It seems that they don't provide a telephone number for billing-related enquiries (!), however there IS a general enquiries number here for the UK http://help.aol.co.uk/contact-aol/article/20070131115209990001 You can cancel by contacting you bank, but I'd also speak to AOL to resolve why they still think they should be billing you (and make a note of the date/time of call and the full name of the person you speak to). If they agree something over the phone, ask that they confirm in writing. |

Like the other replies you MUST contact your bank. Better still get an online account and you can do that without any issues. Also contact AOL and tell them what you are doing - best method is usually snail mail (and keep copies). Keep a note of any over payments - but it can be hard to prove if you have no written evidence of cancellation, hence the need for a copy of a letter (or even an email). All banks offer the DD guarantee and most companies do too. |

I would guess the OP isn't coming back to us. One thing he didn't make clear was whether this direct debit was from his bank account or credit card. If the latter, he could have all sorts of problems trying to stop it. |
