http://www.isthissafe.com My new site lets you check for adult contents on a webpage before you visit it. It reads the contents of the page along with the contents of any frames/iframes within that page and produces a report showing the amount swearying or phrases a proxy server may take exception to. You can also generate a short link from a longlink, which is safe to send around. This works as the person who you send the link to gets brought to the isthissafe site when they click on the link where they're shown a report on the contents of the target link. They can then decide to visit the link or not depending on the report. I've just finished it so I fully expect there to be some wooly bits still around the edge. I'd be gratefull for any comments. |

Good idea! I just done a test on my website, and it shows as no adult content, which is good. But I see it only scans one page of my site. What if I have adult stuff on page 6 for example? |

What a fantastic idea! Working at a college with a pretty strict firewall, this could be very handy! I do agree with Jedi that a future upgrade could include site spidering, maybe go 1 link deep and analyse each page 1 link in. Superb work though, wish I had thought of it

It does check the contents of any frames or iframes found in the site along with any javascript redirects it detects. I've written the ability to do the spidering and capture and show a snapshot of images from a site but I've not implemented them incase it destroys my bandwidth, |

I just gave it a try and found it triggered "Contains Adult Content? YES" with the word "sexy" ![]() Can a site or page containing the word "sexy" be deemed adult? |
