Web address's.

Good afternoon,
More a question than a query, so hopefully some one will answer me.

How can I delete all the web site address's no longer required in the address bar on my home page please?
Also is this known as the "cache" or not?

I am using Win XP Many thanks.

Re: Web address's.

With your browser open, click on Tools - Internet Options - Clear History

Good morning RitchieP, Thank you for your infomation. Address bar looks much tidier now. You did not mention though "just for my curiosity" if this is also known as the (cache)

Re: Web address's.

The bit that controls whether hyperlinks show up as a different colour to show that you have visited them is the HISTORY.

The CACHE is a folder on your hard drive where your web browser downloads files to before displaying them. If you look at a page, then move to another and then return to the original page, your browser will generally take the images, etc from the cache rather than having to download them all across the net.

Internet explorer decribes the cache as "temporary internet files"

You can clear out your Temporary Internet Files automatically by going to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab and scrolling down to Security and putting a tick in the box "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed" and click "Apply" and "OK".
