I saw another posting recently similar to this. and I'm baffled as to the Cause (Perhaps a bad glitched or buggy update?) What happened twice was I was Going Through YouTube and Google Video when this Computer Froze twice (Only way out was a Reset!) NO Message shown ![]() All the updates are to the latest versions (Running XP SP2) Of a similar/connected issue? Many Webpages with images have to be Refreshed to show in recent weeks No Clues as to what it can be except an new item in the Right click menu which is greyed out It is in addition to the Refresh Option called Refresh Page (full quality) Where did this come from? Windows Update? ![]() I suspect there are more of us with these issues

Interesting you reported issues, as I have found that doing my usual watching Soccer Saturday on a stream from Sky last week led to two 'restarts'. Sound went like a bad 'scratch' LP and the PC restarted. Had a couple of other restarts over the last two weeks and all linked to using Media Player (11 I think). I have uninstalled it and resinstalled it). I even find that when playing ITunes in the background, any surfing makes the tracks stutter. I chucked extra RAM in a while ago, so I know the machine can cope. Like you, I am curious if this is linked to the recent Windows Updates. I was reading a link the other day where some have reported their PCs restarting unexpectedly. One has a PC now that reboots as soon as it......well, reboots. |

Quote: Admittedly it would be a bit of hassle but you could system restore back to the date before you installed the updates. Try the things that are causing the present problems and see how it goes. If all seems well then install the updates one at a time ( if i remember there wasn't that many last time ) , running the pc in between to see if the updates affect anything. If it is a particular update that's at fault you're going to be able to detect it. You may not fancy going down this route , that's your prerogative , but if it were me , my concern would be that things may deteriorate . I certainly wouldn't take the chance that the pc could end up , well..........rebooting.
