My ISP is Plusnet and I have a Netgear DG834PN hardwired to my PC which is running Vista Home Premium. My wife has a PC running XP which is connected wirelessly to the Router. My problem is that my (hard-wired)PC "loses" the Router several times a day. . . usually when I'm doing something important !!!! When I lose the Internet Nora (wireless), remains online the whole time. I have to restart my PC and, usually I reconnect straight away (until the next time!!!), but, today, I had to switch the power off to the router, shut down my PC, repower the Router and then my PC. Netgear seem to have difficulty understanding that I have a problem. . . .and it seems to me that, as Nora's PC remains connected to the Internet, the Router settings must be OK. So how can I adjust my PC to allow me to remain online? |

The problem seems to lie with your PC. Have you tried a different cable? Look in Event Viewer at times/dates it happens to see if you get any clues: Right click My Computer > Manage. Click the + next to Evenet Viewer > System. Also try reinstalling your network card/ethernet connection by going into Device Manager and uninstalling it. Then reboot |
