double access

Hi all,

Can you set up two different users with two different internet connections? i.e wireless on one connection and wired on the other?

My son is going to college in September and if he gets a place at his first choice, he can use the college's wireless internet on the laptop I'm hoping to buy for him during the summer that has an wireless connection option and an Ethernet port so that he can connect it to the wired house network of an evening when at home.

If I can setup two different connections on two different user accounts, then great, if not, well he'll be using a memory stick to transfer files between his laptop and the home computer.

The laptop will be running windows vista, as to what flavour I'm not too sure at the moment, but I'm thinking of the Home Basic.

Thanks in advance.

Ray

Re: double access

You can have as many internet connections set up in Vista as you like. In normal circumstances Vista will connect to whichever happens to be available at the time so at college it will find the wireless connection and at home the ethernet connection.
