hi i wondered if anyone couild help me. i have 2 computers my sons upstairs and this one downstairs. everything was fine until today, i had to disconnect his computer, now when he connected it back up today he cant get online. its not his comp, its something to do with my router he beside me. the wireless signal on the router is not showing green, infact its just blank. we have tried all sorts of things to get him back online, ive reset the router, ive unplugged the router, ive gone through the wizard set up but nothing gets that wireless signal back on. what ive noticed , and i cant understand why, but when you go to that netgear settings page, and you have all your settings, the blue tab on the left with all the different settings, you have basic settings, adsl settings and so on. now my problem is and im sure i can fix it if it was there, but i dont have wireless settings down that left hand side? this is my problem if anyone can help me find that bit im sure i can fix his comp. so i need to know why i havent got wireless settings down the left hand side hope you understand, and i will look forward to any response. thanks si |

I would first of all connect your sons PC direct to the router via an ethernet cable and connect that way. Once you have the connection you can go through the wireless setup on his PC and then disconnect the wire. |

hi greyst, thank you for looking into my problem. ive come home from work to find that my son has fixed it lol. what he done was he asked the tech guy at school, and he said sometimes there is a chip that comes abit loose inside the router, so we opened it up and sure enough, the chip wasnt in fully. we pushed it back in and hey weve got the wireless back upstairs. so its all sorted now, and thank you again for your help. si |
