Can't Connect Wirelessly To Internet via Phillips Router with Belkin USB Adapter

Hi everyone, this is a problem a friend is having with his wireless connection.

His set-up involves his 2nd PC (Windows XP Home) trying to connect, via a Belkin USB Wireless Adapter, to his Phillips Router. The signal strength is high but when he tries to use IE to connect to the internet he gets no joy - he's unable to acquire an IP Address/DNS Address automatically even though the USB Network Adapter properties' TCP/IP settings are set to obtain addresses automatically.

His main PC is also connected wirelessly to the router via a Phillips USB Adapter and connects to the web no problem.

Is the problem with the the Phillips router settings ?

Any help is much appreciated.

hi fordy69
in the belkin utility window, there should be a tab with a/p ( available wireless networks ).
Is his router showing in this list ?
If yes, then if you highlight this network and click on the connect button, it should then ask you for network key no etc etc ..
hope this helps
