Internet explorer scipt error

Got a slight prob - running Win Xp, Outlook express and IE V.7 (with supposedley latest updates)
PC had a boot problem the other day and a local bod eventally got it running again. All functions seem to work except when I try to print an e-mail or a web page. Then I get the following

Error: Invalid argument

Continue running scripts on this page? Y / N
The printer works fine and I can copy and paste a web page to MS word and print, just not able to print from the web
Any help gratefully received

Opps. Just noticed the earlier post re script error.. Just to confirm I have checked that the disable script box was "checked" and that the display script error notice was "unchecked"
My particular prob does not seem to appear on the microsoft support page - at least I can't see it!
