IE 8 no choice !
|
|
A news story on Web User site today tells us that you will have to "opt in " to download IE 8. This was not the case on my wife,s PC and as I had to do some updates for her today, I was amazed that the update from MS was not just an IE 7 update but the full instalation of IE 8. So no chance of a "opt in " here! Not that I mind as I use IE 8 on both my desk PC and my netbook and I have so far not had any problems with it.

Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 8 if you are able to roll back to IE7 by uninstalling IE8.

No sign of IE8 in my updates. Did have an important security update for it, along with 6 others, yesterday.

I agree that if you run IE 7 it's unlikely to be an issue to have IE 8
I tend to do the updates myself (quite easy in Vista) and always view the updates (which then gives the option to include in download or not).
I downloaded IE8 soon after it became available, couldn't wait for the update push :-)
