IE7 Security Update

My ActiveX controls in IE7 have stopped working. After doing a bit of investigating on the Microsoft website I came across an update that was installed for it-
KB944533 Cumulative Security update for Windows Vista.
This seems to be the one causing the problems but although it refers to Vista in the update history on my laptop,on Microsofts website it just refers to XP and Windows Server 2003.
What is it really for?If it is just for XP/Server 2003 could I safely uninstall it?There are hotfixes due to be released but if they are not for Vista there would be no point in installing them.
With me not being technically minded about computers I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

Re: IE7 Security Update

It's an Internet Explorer 5, 6 and 7 cumulative update, look here http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB944533

Re: IE7 Security Update

Thanks very much for the link.Thats cleared that up.I think it would have been helpful if Microsoft would have included Vista on its website though, then I would`nt need to ask these questions.

Perhaps Microsoft, somewhat foolishly, gambled that you wouldn't be looking at their website.

Seriously though, although there are 19 variants of KB944533 it's impossible to install the wrong one on a specific operating system.
