Sponsored Links in Google will not open

Anyone know why the sponsored links at the top of a Google search results page will not open? All I get is a page telling me that IE(7) cannot open this page and then it gives me reasons, such as I am not connected to the internet or I typed the IP address wrong.
I use XP SP2 auto updated and have Comodo firewall and after checking my securtiy settings I just cant see why I cant open a sponsored link. Any help !

Sounds to me as if it might be some ad blocking software. Got anything like that? IE7 carries an in-built one.

Re: Sponsored Links in Google will not open

Have checked my firewall settings (Comodo) and Spybot as well as my AVG anti virus setting and cant find a problem and nothing has been found in the IE 7 security set up. I will keep trying but Im not sure what I can do next. Anyone had this problem before?

Re: Sponsored Links in Google will not open

Hi I am having the same problem except it has just cost me £14 as I couldn't track a transaction using quidco very annoying.

Tried with I.E. 7 and firefox same problems disabled all my anti spyware stuff spywareguard, threatfire etc no luck I would like to get to the bottom of it if possible!

Let us know if you find a solution?

Olly.

It's possible that an entry in your hosts file is blocking the site you are trying to reach. If correct then it may be better if left blocked.
