Okay sorry about that here is the new log.
What is wrong with the computer is that everything moves pretty slow if takes 2 minutes sometimes just to open u the start menu I would like to get this fixed please. Also Mister London was helping me earlier with this problem I told him that I got rid of the Trojan Zlob.xa soemthing like that but he said it might be reinfected. The signs won't pop up any more but please let me know what to do next.

Re: NEW Hijack list with details.

Um to be honest I don't even know what it is I think it was an anti-virus system something like Symtnec but it had the words Norton infront of it. I can try to find out what it is but I do not know where it is located.

Re: NEW Hijack list with details.

why i ask is that you also have Mcafee installed.which is an anti virus program. running 2 can cause problems.

norton is the antivirus part of symantec.

i need you to d/load and run the NORTON REMOVAL TOOL

then reboot and post a fresh hijackthis log.

Re: NEW Hijack list with details.

I can't get the Norton Removal thing because it cost and my ma won't pay 4 it. Am I able to go the add and removal programs and remove it like that ?
Also I would like to metion that I though I removed the Macafee security but I was recommened to install the website thing that tells u if the website is safe or not.

Do u still need a new Hijack log ?

you.ve got me confused. the norton removal tool is free, just click on the version of norton that you have and d/load the removal tool and run it.

siteadviser is ok, you can keep that.

but you must remove 1 of the anti virus programs.(norton)

Re: NEW Hijack list with details.

that is the same HJT log you posted the last time., check the dates and times at the top of the log.

Scan saved at 2:06:30 PM, on 12/13/2007

you must run HJT again and post a fresh HJT log.

Re: NEW Hijack list with details.

when you run a scan with HJT it puts the date and time of the scan at the top of the log :-

Scan saved at 2:06:30 PM, on 12/13/2007

both the logs you have posted have the same date, we need a fresh log from after you removed norton.

Start HijackThis and click the Do a system scan and save a log button to perform a scan and create a log file. When the scan is complete, notepad will open up with the log file in it. While in notepad,
press Ctrl-A to select all text and then Ctrl-C to copy the text to the clipboard.
come back to this thread,In the data-entry window, press Ctrl-V to paste the log into the window.

Re: NEW Hijack list with details.

sorry, i should have told you to disable UAC, and to keep it disabled until we were finished.

your HJT log looks clean.

Download and scan with CCleaner
  1. Starting with v1.27.260, CCleaner installs the Yahoo Toolbar as an option which IS checkmarked by default during the installation.
IF you do NOT want it, REMOVE the checkmark when provided with the option OR download the toolbar-free or Slim versions instead of the Standard Build.
  2. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
    Then select "Cookies"
Move any cookies you wish to retain, e.g. login cookies, in the left-hand window to the right-hand window by highlighting them and clicking the right arrow in the centre.

  3. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
    In the Windows Tab:

    • Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section.
    • Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
    • Clean all entries in the "System" section.
    • Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
    • Clean any others that you choose.

    In the Applications Tab:

    • Clean all entries in the Mozilla Firefox Section.
    • Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
    • Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
    • Clean any others that you choose.

  4. Click the "Run Cleaner" button.
  5. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
  6. Click "OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
  7. Click "exit" when done.

Then :-

Download and run AUSLOGICS disc defrag, it's FREE.

to help speed up your system.

then let us know how the computer is running.

Re: NEW Hijack list with details.

if you look HERE

they recommend 512 Mb ram for vista home basic, i think that is too low.
users are complaining it's slow with 1Gb ram.
you may need to upgrade your ram.

what was the system idle figure in taskmanager ?
